Baby and More! A Class About Postpartum, Life Change, Newborn Care, Breastfeeding and Parenting Hot Topics
This class addresses life after the baby arrives! This class covers some of the most vital information we provide.
Class is held Saturday from 9-1.
Taught by Deb Rhizal, RN, Student Midwife, Doula, Mother of Four
We focus on 4 areas of preparation:
- Breastfeeding: Everything you know to get off to an optimal start and avoid common problems such as nipple pain.
- Understanding and Soothing Your Newborn: Newborn cues, how to understand what your baby needs, and tips for soothing a fussy baby.
- Hot Topics: Discussion of things like attachment parenting and co-sleeping. What is all of the judgement about? What has research really shown us? This portion of class is very supportive of diverse approaches to lifestyle and provides a foundation of understanding on these critical topics.
- Holistic Wellbeing: This section covers information that will help you be happy and healthy during the demanding transition to parenting. We cover tips for creating a strong family foundation, keeping your relationship joyful, finding life balance and more. Anticipatory guidance is given around areas of change such as sexuality, spirituality and recovery of physical strength after pregnancy.
It is not uncommon for me to hear from couples months after their baby is born sharing reports that the information in this class made a huge difference to them as they navigated the major ways life has changed since having a baby. Its also the class that many experienced parents say “I wish we would have had something like that. It really would have helped my husband and I.” Having a baby can be absolutely wonderful. Knowing how to tip the scale that direction makes a big difference! I hope to see you there.
